(Part 2) - 8 REASONS WHY CHURCH MEMBERSHIP MATTERS

Do you attend a church? Maybe off and on. You hit spurts of great streaks of consistency, but other times, you're absent for weeks or months. No one judges you for it, but you might yourself. You want to be better and more disciplined and haven't broken the cycle yet. Don't worry. Many Christians face the same challenges and unfulfilled desires. Joining a local church can help break your cycle. Here are eight compelling reasons why you should join a local church in membership and covenant yourself to God's people.

In this article, you will read reasons one through three.

A convincing argument for why membership in the local church matters. If Christians want to grow spiritually, they need to belong to a local church before becoming all they are meant to be in Christ.

REASON #1 - You are the Gospel Towards One Another

What is membership? The gospel towards one another. An unwavering commitment to one another will require love, grace, acceptance, sacrifice, care, forgiveness, and more. Join and live the gospel.

Join and live the gospel.

REASON #2 - It's the Hope of the World

The local church is the hope of the world. Paul says, “The manifold wisdom of God will be made known to the world through the church.”[1] - Ephesians 3:10 Membership matters because it’s the hope of the world! God’s gathered people possess the most potential to change the world for eternity than any organization, movement, or institution. Belong to a local church, be the hope of Jesus to a lost and dying world.

Reason #3 - Membership Gains you More than you Lose

Membership gains you more than you lose. Sacrificing other things for the highest commitment in life, Christ cultivates your fulfillment. You get much by belonging to the local church: Fellowship Encouragement Instruction Acceptance Grace Correction Love Preaching Challenges Mentors Revelation Accountability Growth By no means is this an exhaustive list. The amount received far exceeds what you could get elsewhere. Join a local church, and you will get more than you can comprehend. The Apostle Paul says, “God . . . has blessed us in Christ with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places . . . we have obtained an inheritance.”[1] - Ephesians 1:3, 11

Biblically, it’s impossible to mature spiritually without God’s people, the local church.[2]

Why join a local church? You cannot Become like Christ, until you Belong with his bride. Christ’s bride is the Church.

Join, belong with God’s people, and become like Christ.

Belong to Become
